What is a Mastermind Group?

To put it simply, a mastermind group is a friendly alliance among people to support each other with their plans. Moreover, a quality mastermind group keeps everyone accountable to what they say they are going to do.

Goal-Setting

As the facilitator, Benjamin will first explain the theories and concepts behind what it means to set goals. An often over-looked aspect of goal-setting is the demand on new thought processes and emotional control that accompany a new goal. A goal is easy to state, but much more difficult than people realize to achieve, because of the habitual response that our minds have on our everyday lives. Uprooting preconceived notions about ourselves and our abilities is the only way to make real, progressive change towards a better future.

How Does it Work?

For 4 straight weeks, we will have a 60-minute virtual meeting via Google Hangouts. If you aren’t familiar with Google Hangouts, or you don’t have a gmail account, fear not. You will be sent a link in your email approximately 10 minutes before our scheduled meeting, so all you have to do is click the link to get in.

At the start of every meeting, each member will discuss the accomplishments they’ve had over the past week, based on what they’ve told the group they were going to do from the last meeting. This holds each member accountable. Each week, one member will be in the “hot seat” for the majority of the call (keep reading). At the end of the meeting, each member will discuss what tasks they are to complete before the next meeting.

The virtual meetings will be recorded and sent to each member’s email at the end of the session.

How Big is the Group?

The mastermind group will consist of 4 total people plus the facilitator, Benjamin.

The Hot Seat

Over the course of our time together, you will be in the “hot seat” 1 time. In the hot seat, myself and your group peers will help you build a plan, ask questions, pick your brain, critique your intentions, help you establish your obstacles and then help you make a clear and concise action plan for you to implement. You will then be held accountable to your action plan in the next meeting.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask each member of the group for help on your goals and intentions. This is a group of helpful reciprocity.

Though everyone showcases their action plan every week, no matter if on the hot seat or not, when you are on the hot seat, you get all of the detailed attention.

The Help Seat

When not in the hot seat, you will be asking, helping, inspiring, motivating and encouraging the hot-seater. In addition, you will be asked by the hot-seater for help. In addition to performing your own tasks for the week ahead, you will also perform a task on behalf of the hot-seater for that week. This is a group of helpful reciprocity.

What Will This Do For Me?

To be part of a supportive group that reciprocates encouragement, support and accountability is paramount to your success. No matter where you are in your life/business pursuits, you need help, probably more help than you realize.

And the best help you will receive comes in the form of positive accountability and encouragement. Being a part of a mastermind group changes the way you see yourself and your own abilities. To saturate yourself with others in the name of complete support with no judgement is to have made a profound paradigm shift in the way you think and the actions you take.

More than anything else, mastermind groups instill courage and perspective, which are the antithesis to the two biggest problems we face in the world: fear and ignorance.
