Benjamin and I travel quite frequently for pleasure and through our non-profit, Lovin’ Soap Project. We decided to put together some travel sets for us and to sell at Prairie Soap Company for other travelers such as us.
We used these adorable clam shell boxes from S-Packaging.
We cut bars into six pieces and stacked them up in the boxes. Each has about 5 ounces of soap. This was perfect for some of the wonky cuts or end pieces that didn’t really make the cut for the retail floor. We’ve sold quite a few and one guy was excited to get one for his wife for the gym.
Happy Holidays!
Amanda
Thank you for this post! I had some soaps that I tried out in a new mold and they ended up being too small and I sold them as guest soaps and they have sold really well.
How much did you sell them for. Thanks.
Love this idea!
Will these hold up to ship soap in it and put a mailing label on it? *the non window one*
That’s a good questions! I think they would as long as you taped it completely shut. That would be a cool mailing package.
Super cute idea! That would be perfect for a Bed and Breakfast to leave guests in their rooms!
I purchase a sample set recently. The size is small. It’s very durable, but it’s probably best to air dry the soap first. It comes with or without a window. You just have to figure out a creative way to close it. But for soap the window is best, because the customer or client can see and small the soap. I like it.
Yes, the soap would have to dry if you were to take it with you. I usually use a piece the size of the samples in one weekend of travel, so I made this with not taking the soap home in mind.
Did you use the small or larger size boxes? And how well do the boxes hold up, especially with damp soap? Thinking of my daugher who coaches for a swim team and gives swim lessons (and her coaching friends)
Thanks,
Wallis
Hello! I used the small ones. They won’t hold up too long with wet soap. The soaps are small enough to be of a single time use – especially if you were to break them into even smaller pieces. So when I travel, I would use 1 piece for three to four days. I wouldn’t take it home in the box.
