About this Book
This book is a recipe book containing 50 recipes for cold process soap and 64 essential oil blends. Though it does contain basic steps, it is not an advanced soapmaking book and doesn’t go into details on advanced soapmaking topics.
For more detailed soapmaking instruction, please visit www.LovinSoap.com or www.Soapqueen.tv. Soapqueen.tv has a basic soapmaking video series that covers the process of soapmaking brilliantly and thoroughly.
The recipes in this book contain natural essential oils for scent and spices and herb powders for natural coloring. There are no synthetic fragrances or colorants used.
Each recipe is written out as 900-gram oil batches that fit into a 10” silicone mold, such as the 10” silicone mold found at Bramble Berry (affiliate link http://www.brambleberry.com/10-Silicone-Loaf-Mold–P5199.aspx?bb=5). Recipe percentages are given for those that need to resize a batch to fit a different mold size.
The recipes and essential oil blends in this book are provided to inspire creative formulation on your part. Sure you can use a recipe as-is, but don’t be afraid to experiment and change things up. As always, if you substitute a base oil in a recipe with something else, be sure to run the recipe through a lye calculator to get the new lye amount.

What people are saying!
I would highly suggest this book for those that cannot get RSPO palm oil or those that want to be totally palm free in their production of soap.
I purchased the Cold Process Recipe eBook. This book is helping me reduce the number of recipes that I use palm oil in. I didn’t think I could make a good hard vegetable bar without palm or animal fat but this book proved me wrong. I would highly suggest this book for those that cannot get RSPO palm oil or those that want to be totally palm free in their production of soap. – Keedy W.
I’ll admit that when I bought the Lovin’ Soap Studio Cold Process Soap Recipe Book back in September, my main interest was in getting my hands on the collection of essential oil blends as I’m blending challenged. Now that I’ve had a chance to look at this book in more depth, I’ve discovered some little gems hidden inside: ideas for oil substitutions, crafting a soap for babies, and even a soap for my mad mechanic youngest son.I believe this is a book that appeals to all levels of soap maker; whether you just picked up a stick blender for the first time 6 months ago or if you’re on your fifth one after hundreds of batches. In my opinion, it’s always good to learn something new and this little book can teach you a thing or two! – Jennifer M.
If you are looking for a book that uses essential oils to scent soap, then this is the book for you.
I can’t say that I have made any recipes in this book yet. (I had to order ingredients. They arrived yesterday. Can’t wait to try a recipe!) What I can say is that I love this recipe book and can’t wait to try a lot of these recipes. If you are looking for a book that uses essential oils to scent soap, then this is the book for you. In all of my looking for books and even the ones I had bought I hadn’t found a ton of information on scenting with essential oils. Some information, just not a lot. This book is full of recipes for soaps – all of which use essential oils for their scent. The second half of the book are more essential oil blends (not attached to a soap recipe, but different from the blends used in the recipes.) All of the combinations look interesting. Before buying this book I was considering using fragrance oils sometimes. After buying this book, I wish I hadn’t purchased any fragrance oils because there are so many options to try with essential oils that I doubt I’ll use fragrance oils at all. Glad I only have a few. Now to buy more essential oils so I can try these fun combination. – Kimberly F.
The recipes are easy to read as well as the directions, they produce hard bars that lather without drying your skin out.
I purchased the “Lovin Soap Studio Cold Process Soap Recipe eBook”, since I am fairly new to soap making and needed reliable recipes to work with. The recipes are easy to read as well as the directions, they produce hard bars that lather without drying your skin out. I have enjoyed working with your soap recipes. – Kathy S.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a beginner at making soap, or anyone who wants a quick soap recipe without having to do all the calculations of the oils, & lye.
Being new at making soap, and not sure how to do all the calculations, I purchased this book to make it easier for me to start making soap. All the calculations & percentages of oils were already there as well as what the soap did moisturizing, etc. It gave me how many bars it made, the size of the “loaf pan” & the size of the bar. I was not yet comfortable at “changing things up” yet, so I wanted a book that gave me everything I needed to make my very first batch of soap. I’m doing this for my own personal use, to give to close friends and to family. I’m not going to start a business making soap, yet I wanted to do it right! I would recommend this book to anyone who is a beginner at making soap, or anyone who wants a quick soap recipe without having to do all the calculations of the oils, & lye. I’m looking forward to purchasing more books from Amanda to hone my skills at making soap! – Debbie F.
I tried your lavender and oatmeal face bar recipe and it is fantastic!
I have been making soap for a few years and wanted to do more essential oil soaps instead of fragrances, so I bought your book for all the essential oil mixture recipes. I was pleasantly surprised to see all your soap recipes were palm free. I tried your lavender and oatmeal face bar recipe and it is fantastic! I can’t wait to try some more of your recipes from the book. This book is great for new soapers and veterans too. Good job! – Kelly G.
I purchased the Cold Process Soap Recipe Book and I cannot emphasize enough how much I love it! I have made 6 different recipes so far, and all have turned out wonderfully. I was afraid that palm free soap would not turn out well, but now I will never use palm oil again. My soap turned out hard, and lathers well but is not during at all. The book has a great variety of recipes, there is truly something for everyone, and the scent combinations are divine. I would recommend this book to anyone who makes soap, and I thank you for sharing all of this valuable information with us. – Laurie Y.
The recipes are great because includes Palm free recipes, And You learn How to make soaps without using Palm. Great for beginners And for masters to have in their personal Collection book. The bad are that dont have photos , but The autor told it before to purchased LOL. – Jaslind G.
I purchased the CP soap recipe book this year and have been super happy with it! I’m a seasoned soaper, but even if I wasn’t I would love this book. I loved the tips for substitutions…you know when you “thought” you had plenty of rice bran oil, but didn’t! The recipes worked flawlessly and I’ve gotten rave reviews from each of the soaps that I’ve added to my product line. Even though I’ve changed up a few things, because I mainly make milk soaps, the recipes were just plain soapy goodness. Thanks for great books that are truly what they say they are. Too often I buy an ebook that sounds great but find it to be poorly written or not very helpful. I’m happy to report that Amanda’s books are the real deal. Real information and an excellent value for the price! – Barb M.
I purchased your “Cold Process Recipe Book”. What a great resource for both beginners and seasoned soap makers! For the novice, there are basic soap recipes to get them started. Once they have become addicted to soap making, because you know it’s going to happen, they have more elaborate and exciting recipes to try! I have made many of the recipes, but my family really likes the Wake Up! soap in the morning. I’m partial to the Sleepy Time at bath time before heading to bed. Thank you all of the great ideas and the inspiration! – Deana L.
Love this eBook! I am relatively new to making soap and was looking for a few new ideas to help me along. The book is a great price, has lots of seriously good recipes, from simple to more involved, & I love that each recipe is on a separate page, enabling me to easily print out one at a time. I’ve tried several recipes, all with good results & have several more on my ‘to-do’ list. This is a must-have for all soapmakers. – Cal P.
I purchased Lovin’ Soap Studio Cold Process Recipe Book. I found this book very helpful. All the recipes are easy to scale to my soap mold. There are useful tips to apply to other soap recipes. The essential oil blends included in the book are very helpful when researching what blends I might like to try. And I like the way it is organized, without much repetition. I have found this to be my go to book when I am wondering about soap ingredients. – Eileen W.
