Soapmaking and lotion-making classes include:

Basic Cold Process Soapmaking (May 2, 9 a.m. – noon) – Taught by Amanda Gail, learn to make your own natural handcrafted soap! You will learn what soap is, how it’s made, oil properties, additives, coloring, molding and much more! This is a hands-on class where you’ll actually get to create, custom scent and color a two pound batch of cold process soap to take home with you. All supplies, including essential oils, colors, molds, base oils, botanicals and clays will be available in class so you can design your own soap! No experience necessary! You will take home two pounds (about 9 bars) of soap!

Stunning Advanced Slab Design and Coloring Techniques (May 2, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) – Taught by Amanda Gail, learn how to take your soap coloring and design to the next level! This hands-on lab is all about using color and swirling in a slab mold! You will learn many swirling techniques including a nonpareil swirl, a peacock swirl and more. You will get to make two batches of soap to practice your swirling in class. We’ll talk about how to create a slow moving recipe and how oils, water, heat and additives can affect trace. All supplies, including scents, colors, molds, oils, botanicals and clays will be available in class so you can design your own stunning soap! *You must have prior cold process soapmaking experience or have completed the Basic Cold Process Soapmaking class.

Cupcakes and Cold Process Piping Techniques (May 3, 9 a.m. – noon) – Taught by Amanda Gail, cupcakes are all the rage these days! Learn how to make adorable cold process soap cupcakes. We’ll go over piping techniques, recipe selection, coloring, decorating and more! Cupcake soaps make wonderful gifts for children, wedding showers, baby showers, teacher gifts…you name it! All supplies, including scents, colors, molds, piping tips/bags, oils, botanicals and clays will be available in class so you can design your own stunning soap! *You must have prior cold process soapmaking experience or have completed the Basic Cold Process Soapmaking class. You will take home over two pounds of soap!

Basic Lotion Making (May 3, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) – Taught by Amanda Gail, learn the process of making lotion from scratch. We’ll talk about ingredients and what each contributes to a recipe, how to select oils and butters, heating and holding, emulsions, different additives and preservatives. In class you will get to make your own batch of lotion to take home to share with friends and family (or keep for yourself). You’ll get to choose the oils, butters and essential oils for your lotion. No experience necessary!
